Scottish Power has recently won a series of contracts to build wind turbines, including offshore and onshore wind and solar farms. This has led to many jobs becoming available in the company, they stated they expect to recruit 1000 new employees over the next 12 months.
The Jobs will be available across Scotland and England. As well as hiring new staff the company will also need to invest more money in the distribution to transfer the power generated from these offshore turbines to homes.
This new investment comes as the energy provider has said that the UK’s energy system has become critical. They said that the importance of energy sovereignty and the cost-of-living crisis all points to the countries’ need for more green and more affordable energy.
The energy provider has said that this recruitment surge is going to massively help the UK’s economy. As a long-term quality, green jobs are crucial for the UK’s economic recovery and tackling climate change.
